The Great Believers paperback book release!

We are thrilled to welcome Rebecca Makkai to the shop to celebrate the paperback release of The Great Believers, due from Penguin books on Tuesday, June 4th. Rebecca will appear in conversation with Owen Keehnen. A Q&A and book signing will follow the discussion.

About the book:

In The Great Believers Rebecca Makkai juxtaposes a compelling and emotional mid-1980s Chicago-based AIDS drama with alternating chapters set in contemporary Paris. The result is an expansive view, not only of the epidemic, but of the recurrent themes of devotion, loss, honoring the past, and carrying on. With The Great Believers, Makkai has crafted a multi-layered, smart, and gripping read that puts Chicago's LGBT community front and center in the telling.
